At our January Razom IT Speaker Series event, we learned how civic tech is driving change in Ukraine. Artem Borodatyuk, co-founder of the platform for social good, “Moy Gorod” visited New York and shared his experience of launching an online platform in Odessa, Ukraine that gets citizens to create and implement projects to make their city more livable. He calls it a marketplace of social projects and civic activists.
Artem shared how he launched an online crowdfunding and collaboration platform that citizens are using now to pick up garbage, to improve public phone booths, to find ways to cope with stray animals, and much more. The platform now has over 1500 registered users and 8 live projects in less than half a year. Artem, a serial entrepreneur, is looking forward to expanding the platform.
