There’s only one place in New York City where you can find such a diverse, motivated group of people coming together to meet, learn, and discuss projects impacting Ukrainians worldwide. That place is the Razom Annual Meeting.
September 25th – the Co-Pilot project duo of American neurosurgeon Luke Tomycz and Ukrainian neurosurgeon Ihor Kurilets presented the Co-Pilot Project at the Princeton University.
In August 2019, representatives from all Razom Partner organizations met up in Kharkiv for the first time. Volunteers from many organizations spent 2 days working together: swapping stories and sharing expertise.
Right before their first concert in NYC, the Ukrainian band KAZKA generously dedicated the night of May 30th to help us raise funds for the Razom Ticket – the project which aims to increase engagement in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines among Ukrainian children. Many Ukrainian New-Yorkers came to enjoy the Cocktails with KAZKA.
It was an amazing weekend at the 46th Annual St. George’s Ukrainian Festival in NYC. Razom Lounge presented recent Razom projects, hosted activities and interviews, had incredible Face Box and Ukrainian clay-making experiences, and much more!
On March 17, the National Olympiad in Physics started in Kherson, Ukraine. Razom Ticket team had worked closely with the organization committee of the Olympiad and provided the needed additional funding for the event. 173 participants from all around Ukraine competed to show their strong skills and knowledge in physics.
Razom and The Ukrainian Medical Association of North America (UMANA) welcomed Dr. Igor Kurilets, Ukrainian neurosurgeon and Co-Pilot project participant, in New York on March 18th at Caveat.
The campaign for President of Ukraine officially started in January. Razom volunteers hosted a presentation on Saturday, February 9 by three media professionals from Ukraine who spoke in New York City about the current media landscape. The intent was to provide a ‘crash course’ on the main media outlets so people following the events in Ukraine can be informed consumers of the news about the election.
On January 26-27, the VII Global Ukrainians Forum was held in New York. For the first time the meeting of Ukrainian expats that promote Ukraine’s interests in the world was held in the United States. The organizers of the event were Global Ukraine and Razom.
After all the holiday celebrations in the New 2019, we would like to share with you the main results of our joint New Year’s efforts of the Toy Drive project: St. Mykolai’s gifts, warm jackets and boots, and half a ton of donations that will make Ukrainian kids happy in 2019.
