Razom announces a new program: The Co-Pilot Project – Neurosurgery Training in Ukraine

The Co-Pilot Project (CPP) is an initiative that aims to address the significant deficit in high quality neurosurgical and spine surgery training in Ukraine, a country of 45 million people in eastern Europe. Just as a co-pilot acts as another set of eyes and ears for the pilot, our mission is to send surgeons from North America to mentor and aid Ukrainian surgeons through difficult cases.

Razom visits SIT Graduate Institute in Vermont

On a hill in Brattleboro, Vermont, a group of 70 master students speak a language more often heard in the cultural cafes of a progressive metropolis. The language borrows only the big words from the English dictionary that breathe of lofty goals and social revolution. Terms like cross-cultural, advocacy, social change, justice, exchange, political policy, peace and education are the cornerstones of communication at the SIT Graduate Institute in Vermont.

232 Backpacks of Supplies for #SchoolToyDrive

Our wonderful toy drive volunteers are no strangers to providing support to children in Ukraine. They’ve been sending care packages (and more) to families for over two years. In May, our Toy Drive team decided that they wanted to do something big. That big project was #SchoolToyDrive. The goal was to fill new backpacks with supplies that the kiddos would find useful and fun.

 

After a summer of hard work, our volunteers bought and filled 232 backpacks with school supplies and sent to 8 volunteer centers in Ukraine to distribute to children of ATO victims.

Razom supports GaliciaKult program in Kharkiv

GaliciaKult is a multidisciplinary social-cultural forum that happened in Kharkiv in October 2016.

GaliciaKult will physically transcend borders between west and east Ukraine, and bring the multifaceted culture of “Halychyna” region (west) to Kharkiv, the largest city of the Slobozhanshchyna historical region (northeast). The goal is to grasp the concept of a neighbor-ship, both inside the country and across the borders.

The forum’s program – the result of collaboration among curators, artists, scholars and cultural activists from West/East Ukraine and EU partners will include over 90 cultural events in several segments: visual art (8 exhibitions), music (5 big concerts), theater (6 spectacles), literature (17 meetings), film (16 films), lecture & discussion program (14 meetings) with a focus on different histories, identities and cultures of cities in Western Ukraine and Eastern Ukraine (represented by Kharkiv in the northeast). Razom has partnered up with DOFA Fund (organizer of #GaliciaKult) to raise cash to cover travel expenses for the artists. Razom Think: Monitoring Project OKO

Razom at Soyuzivka Festival 2016

“There is no place like Soyuzivka” is the slogan of this Ukrainian Heritage Resort perched high in the Catskills. And there is a reason that this slogan rings true. On July 8 – 10 Soyuzivka hosted its 10th annual Heritage Festival which was a compilation of Ukrainian artists and artisans from across the United States, Canada and Ukraine. And as usual the venue didn’t disappoint, as participants frolicked and dance well into the night.

Razom. Art. Jam party after Razom Annual Meeting 2016

In the evening, after the Annual Meeting presentations and workshops, Razom Culture hosted a program that gave everyone chance to experience contemporary music, art and fashion. Throughout the evening, the artistry in the room reflected the eclectic mix of the individuals at the event with art installations throughout the hall, cartoon projections on the wall, a fashion presentation and musical sets spanning many different styles.
