About Screening
Razom Cinema invites you to an evening that will go beyond a traditional film screening, offering an immersive experience where storytelling connects deeply with real-world issues.
Ignited by the special screening of It’s Just My Happy Place, a short documentary directed by Liubava Petriv that highlights the journey of 25-year-old Yaroslav, a Ukrainian in New York, grappling with identity and belonging. His search for self takes on greater urgency in the wake of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
This evening is more than just a film—it’s an opportunity to step into its world. Through interactive activity zones, attendees can engage with the themes of identity, belonging, and resilience in meaningful ways. The experience includes a panel discussion with community leaders that will further deepen the conversation, unpacking the film’s message and its relevance to broader global contexts.
Looking ahead to 2025, this event is a chance to envision a future in which Ukrainians and their allies preserve cultural identity, advocate for justice, increase global awareness, and strengthen resilience in the face of challenges. It’s about ensuring that Ukraine’s story, like Yaroslav’s, continues to inspire action and solidarity worldwide.
Save the date and keep an eye for further announcements on the hosts of the community activities.
