Razom at Soyuzivka Festival 2016

“There is no place like Soyuzivka” is the slogan of this Ukrainian Heritage Resort perched high in the Catskills. And there is a reason that this slogan rings true. On July 8 – 10 Soyuzivka hosted its 10th annual Heritage Festival which was a compilation of Ukrainian artists and artisans from across the United States, Canada and Ukraine. And as usual the venue didn’t disappoint, as participants frolicked and dance well into the night.

Razom. Art. Jam party after Razom Annual Meeting 2016

In the evening, after the Annual Meeting presentations and workshops, Razom Culture hosted a program that gave everyone chance to experience contemporary music, art and fashion. Throughout the evening, the artistry in the room reflected the eclectic mix of the individuals at the event with art installations throughout the hall, cartoon projections on the wall, a fashion presentation and musical sets spanning many different styles.

We did it: Razom Annual Meeting 2016!

Razom held its second annual meeting on Saturday, July 25th in New York City. More than 140 guests attended #Razom2years who learned about the organization’s progress and six initiatives, including: Razom IT, Razom Culture, Razom Think with UkrOko.org, Reformers without Borders, Razom Aid with Toy Drive, and Razom Partners. “I was so impressed to see so many new faces in the room,” said Razom Board Member, Dora Chomiak. “Clearly this shows that, even though the headlines may be off the front pages, the drive that brought Razom volunteers together in 2014 is still relevant today.”

A conversation with the new CEO of Hromadske TV

In May we got to sit down with the new CEO of Hromadske TV and have a conversation about the question ‘What is worth doing to support Ukraine?’ Razom came together to support Maidan. Now we work with volunteers around the world on projects that amplify the voices of people from Ukraine and that increase civic engagement. We do not have a specific project with Hromadske TV, but we were glad to have the chance to talk with someone who is leading an institution that also sprung from the street protests in 2013.

What Hromadske Radio learned in 7 days in the US

Hromadske Radio spent a week in New York City and Washington, DC to connect with their US counterparts in public radio. Razom volunteers arranged the program and hosted the team, and the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv awarded Hromadske Radio a travel grant.
