Razom Lounge 2019

It was an amazing weekend at the 46th Annual St. George’s Ukrainian Festival in NYC. Razom Lounge presented recent Razom projects, hosted activities and interviews, had incredible Face Box and Ukrainian clay-making experiences, and much more!

For two incredible days, Razom Lounge 2019 was buzzing, and the weather could not have been better. Hundreds of amazing people stopped by and joined the fun – discussing Razom initiatives, latest Ukrainian news, potential new projects, and participated in great and fun activities, all carefully chosen and created by Razom volunteers and supporters for the demanding crowd of NYC.

Ukrainian pottery classes took place at Razom Lounge 2019 for two days thanks to Ivan Bratko from Riker Hill Art Park Artists. Within a few hours, the back of Ivan’s shirt ended up being covered in clay handprints – evidence of everyone giving him lots of grateful happy hugs after each class. Pan Ivan was with us from morning until evening, both Saturday and Sunday. The line for his lessons was long with kids and adults alike eager to learn real Ukrainian pottery making! We’re not sure if Pan Ivan even took a break – he was committed and dedicated to making sure every person got to try making their own hlechyk! All donations from clay classes at the Ukrainian Festival Pan Ivan generously contributed to Razom.

Another amazing activity of Razom Lounge 2019 was the Face Box. Face Box two years in a row made Razom Lounge a very special place! Photos are cool, but a drawn portrait is unique. We thank  Sashko Danylenko for his awesome talent of making an ordinary thing like a cardboard box into an extraordinary experience! Even NYC police officers couldn’t stand aside and joined the party of creativity.

Finally, Razom had a bunch of great prizes to raffle out for our friends and visitors. All the prizes were donated to us by our generous supporters. At the end of the second day of the Festival our volunteers randomly chose the winners of the Razom Lounge raffle:

Oksana Lytvyn – KAZKA concert ticket
Yurii Piadyk– Veselka gift card
Uliana Bilash – Tickets to the Ukrainian museum
Diana Lysenko – Veselka gift card
We congratulate the winners and thank them for their support!

Razom Lounge 2019 would not have been possible without our volunteers. Preparation for the Festival started in March with weekly meetings where volunteers brainstormed and planned for the Razom Lounge. In the end, between Saturday and Sunday, over 25 volunteers helped us make Razom Lounge a reality! Everyone played a crucial part in making everything work, and we really got to exhibit the power of our volunteer-based mission. Razom is so grateful to each and every person who took time out of their weekend and helped with even the smallest task. Our smiling volunteers, ready to talk to anyone and everyone about how to get involved with Razom in changing Ukraine for the better, were truly the highlight! Thank you!

All donations collected at Razom Lounge at the Ukrainian Festival on the 7th Street go directly to support Razom projects and initiatives! Support Razom today, join us in our mission of building a prosperous Ukraine – project by project.
